Rear fender mod
hi
Any ideas on replacing the rear fender with something smaller that will still support the tail light and number plate? |

There are other makes available like Polisport that are similar. They all need a trim to make them fit but it's not difficult to do. |

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...4/SNC00176.jpg http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...4/SNC00178.jpg left to do is drill the holes to secure the tail light to the tail tidy, drill holes to mount the numberplate, mount the reflector on the bottom of the number plate, paint the tail tidy black, cut a piece of plastic sheet to go under the seat as an undertray, making it easier to clean underneath, and protecting the CDI unit that used to be protected by the rear fender (but it still covered in crud), and the rear subframe which is suffering from rust (a job for another day). |
Xt600e, removed the "splashplate" and made a plate for mounting the numberplate. Looks a lot cleaner, but flings mud better, oeh well...

On my 1990 XT600E I fitted the mudguard from my other Yamaha 2002 DT125R!
It fitted perfectly and is different than the original ones that came with the X XT... and looks much better! http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/6672/dsc02972o.th.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/6...02953zo.th.jpg It attaches to the frame with the screw that is right next to the turn signal(same goes to the other side) and beneath of the frame on the stock holes for the stock mud guard whilst protecting the regulator/rectifier)! http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/2...c02973j.th.jpg Vando :cool4: |
