Remove engine from frame.

Is there some trick here to do this easy? I removed the engine from frame, but must say it was not easy removing the frame. And i had the frame stripped lifting frame from engine, but thinking about when just doing a engine swap? Is it room with wheels on to drop the engine down and remove frame sideways? You need something under the engine, bike jack or something so then you have approx 10-15cm up. Or is it lifting bike up with jack and strapp it from roof, dropping engine easiest way?

Lay it on its side with a blanket or something under the engine, then just lift the frame away (one man job).

Yea if you have a bike you dont care about it maybe the trick here, but thinking it would easy do damage if you have a mint one.

I leave the wheels on , standing upright with a strap going to a winch hanging from the ceiling kind of holding it in place , the motor goes on a car jack and the front of frame is kind of lifted for the angle to roll engine forward and then out the side. Repeat going in . Still not at all an easy job , laying on its side is probably better but when the bike is all together weighs too much for easy handling .

i built an simple engine stand, it holds to the front bottom bolt (the one that is free after you remove the front engine plate).

this + a good engine jack under it makes life much easier

Yes i agree JJ, seems like its best way. I use this one for the engine, get space for the oiltube in the middle and easy to move around.:

I stand over the frame, with a leg on each side, tilt the engine upwards to get the bottem free of the swingarm, then remove sideways on the right hand side, while turning the engine slightly to the right.

Its harder to explain than to do it. Do the opposite when reassembling.

Is this with drop off engine to the floor or you have a jack under? I was doing this wiggle and yes it came out the same way, problem was holding fram with no wheels in one hand and wiggle engine out with the other..

I did it with wheels attached, but yes you can use a lift/jack

Ok, but did you drop it down on the floor to wiggle out or something under?

With a a small lift under it. You can do without it for removing the engine, but its easier with it.
