REPLACEMENT EXAUST
Hi
I've owned my 03 XT600e since new, I'm looking to replace the whole exaust system. I'm looking for a system that will last "for ever", sound great, and not damage the engine. Any recomendations ? ------------------ thumpthing |
hey there,
I have a Yamaha TT600r which I beleive has the same engine as the XT with slightly different carbs, cam and crank. I run an Arrow Paris Dakar pipe, its stailess steel very light and with the baffle taken out sounds awesome!!! Its also legal for street use in the UK (with baffle in) I saw one on ebay for under £100 but you can pick up a new one for just over a hundred notes. Good luck and I hope this helps. JP |

check the exhaust doesn't get in the way of the brake caliper under full suspension compression. if you're lucky it only dents the exhaust. if you're unlucky, it breaks the caliper off its mount and shreds your rear tyre. if you're really unlucky, this happens in the middle of the sahara. man, that was a fun trip!

Hi, thanks for the feedback and pointing me in the right direction. I will go for the Arrow pipe. Done and dusted. I will let you know how I get on.
Thank you. ------------------ thumpthing |
Just a question about the PD (from all the good reviews I've ordered one):
When fitted, do you need to adjust the carburetor, or any other adjustments? Or is it just to mount and go? |
