Ride height on Tenere
Hi all
I need a bit of advice here. After being off the biking scene for 22years I just bought a Tenere. I always had an eye for the bike since 1985 when one of our sergeants bought one,at that stage I owned a XR200R which was my primary transport as well as my most valuable possesion-I had to part with it in hard circumstances a bit later. The problem is my feet just touch the ground on the Tenere. I am built like an ox with legs that can kickstart a Boeing but the bike is just a bit high for my short legs and needs very juducious stopping and balancing I have has a few falls which hurt my pride more than anything else. All my mates say get rid of it but I love the bike fullstop. So my question is what can I do to get longer legs or a lower Tenere? I have set the main shock as low as Possible already and am considering removing some of the sytuffing on the seat....most of my Africa touring is done in a 79 series double cab Landcruiser so comfort is not a requirement for me.I have a hard ass.... |
Lowering a Tenere
Hi, Have you looked at the Kedo website?. I lowered an xt600 front and rear with a Kedo kit which also included a threaded section to weld into the side stand to make thaty adjustable, very usefull when you have a load on a softly sprung long travel bike.

Thanks Jimmy
I did contact Kedo. quite pricy though. In the meantime I have dropped the front forks slightly and reshaped the seat and the bike is fine for me. I am really enjoying it again. Thanks for your response. |
