roller bearing
I have a 1990 xt 600 and when I was changing the tire bearings back, I noticed that the roller chain guide that is attached to the swing arm wobbels. Is that hard to change any info woud help.

If you are talking about the one that goes around the swingarm you need to remove swingarm to change, my advice is to just remove whats left and buy the one for the 4pt. It has the combi protection.

I need the roller that has the bolt going through it that has the swingarm and goes to the other end and there is a nut . The chain rideson it. Looks like it is between the frame and the swingarm but its on the bottom. Thanks again

Ok, that one you can just unscrew, no problem.

I keep getting a grinding noise when I ride. I installed new rear wheel bearings and still making noise. I am thinking its those 2 roller wheels. Can they make noise? Also adjusting the chain is nobody on the bike correct. Any help do you know what can it be it sounds its by the left foot peg area sprockets look good

I got that noise when the swingarm protection was eaten up, the chain comes down on the metal. So check that you have a plastic ring on the swingarm mounting. If you dont understand what iam talking about its number 9 here:
http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oem...8bd24/rear-arm Remove left overs from nr 9 and remove 14, buy the chainprotector from 4pt and problem solved. |
I have a plastic cover that goes on the outside of the swing arm and its white, if that is the same piece you are talking about. That is new any other suggestions Thanks again.

Oops sorry my mistake. That is the bottom roller and that connects through the swing arm correct? That wobbles but still has the rubber coating maybe I will replace

I understand number 9 the chain rides on that. Mine is rubber and moves side to side maybe worn I don't know if it is suppose to do. Now does it come in a kit for the whole replacement or can I replacxe just that. How do I replace that only or should I replace the whole kit. Looks like the nut comes off first then I push the bolt back alittle then hopefully it drops down the assembly.I guess I shim up the motor to keep the pressure off the swing arm Hey thanks for your patience with me

If you have something there its ok, its supposed to move a little. Thats why i say buy the 4pt chainguard, you dont have to remove swingarm.
|
I am talking about part #9 that moves alittle side to side. The material is like a rubber. I was thinking that maybe that is where my noise is coming from. I was wondering if that is an assembly that can be replaced all at once. Now that part # 9 does have the bolt going through it and the swingarm . Now my swing arm protector is okay' that is new. What else can it be then? I push the bike no noise only when I ride it. The front sprocket it not loose.

Raise the rear and run bike, then you easy can find noise.
