Scottoiler TT600R
I finally got around to mounting a Scottoiler V-system on my TT600R. The instructions on their website were clear and every part needed was supplied with the kit.
I couldnt find anything online regarding fitting it to a TT600R, so i thought id post the mounting position for others to see. I considered mounting the reservoir to the frame right by the oil-tank, but my leg would bump against it. Theres also no place to fit it under the seat. I did not want to fit it on the right side of the bike, as routing the oil line from one side of the swing arm to the other while avoiding the chain, would be a pain. So i mounted it under the rear fender, on the left-side sub-frame, just above the tool-box. With the seat removed, theres free acces to fiddle around with it from the top, but i can still prime and refill without removing the seat if i want to. Routing it was pretty simple, i just followed the subframe down to the swingarm guard, under the swing arm, then fitted the nozzle to the chain guard. The breather hose was routed under the fender and on to the right side rear indicator, but still under the rear fender. I dont know about this, think its best if they stand up/down for refilling and for oil to come out all time. Every time you give throttle it will bounce and maybe not giving out oil.

That being said, mine is mounted diagonally. The angle of the picture does not convey its true position. Filling it with oil was no problem.. The only time i will need to prime it, is if it runs out of oil. I test rode mine for 15 km tonight, and it works perfectly so far. Time will tell if it was the best way to go. Only concern i have is that service life may be shortened if it gets blasted with road grime. Im considering making a sort of cover for it. |
