Sealing out the Damp!
So it's rained for 24 hours!
My bike was sat out in it for about 8 hours whilst I was at work - then! Try to start the bike - no joy - a bit of damp and it doesn't want to start. Before too many attempts the engine is flooded! Have to take the spark plug out three times to dry it out before replacing it with a new dry one from my pocket. So - the problem? How do I stop damp getting down into the ignition lead area for the spark plug? The is already the rubber boot on the bottom of the spark plug cap, and the rubber seal at the top of the spark plug hole - both fit nice and snug BUT still it was soacking wet in there when I took out the plug. Suggetions please! Cheers, Tony. |
i suffer the same problems when crossing rivers, i find the bike tends to let alot of water into the plug hole (bike stalls), i imagine the o ring that surrounds the plug lead needs updating.
