LOL. Quite literally Have another look. There is a seperate adjustment for up and down. One sits above each light for vertical and two sit on the bottom centered between the lights for horizontal adjustments. |
Headlight Adjustment -LOL at myself
I've been LOL at myself too, but look and feel around the inside of the fairing as much as I do, no can find adjusters above my lights on 89 XT600Z .
The lights have been pointing in the air for a year, maybe longer, but since I don't drive after dark, no worries. However I would like to get them set. Run that by me again.. the adjusters for vertical are above the lights on the inside of the fairing? Do you have to pull the rubber light inside housing off to get at them? TIA |

Just had a look at a set of lights the adjusters are at the top to adjust the up and down position, let us know how you get on if you can get to the adjusters easy enough, are they seized up does it make much difference.
I think my lights used to rattle about a bit so think some bits are broke missing or just not working. Has any one rebuilt a 3AJ headlight so it works ok? I did want to fit a different headlight but like the look of the 3AJ fairing so may try a HID set up. Has any one gone for a HID set up on a 3AJ Can only get a small pic uploaded but you get the idea where the adjusters are |
tenere headlights
Thanks for the help. I eventually found them! Took the tank off and made it a lot easier...I have seen the light!!!

You XT Tenere guys are right, but still not ride at night
Found the adjusters, upper, but upper left and upper right. Neither "frozen," however adjuster nuts had been changed.
In the dark, at 100 kph plus, I think both lights might light up a dark stalled car/truck or water buffalo, enough to see them before things go black. Thanks for the help. I too "have seen the light." ATB, Dr. G |
