Should I buy this XT600E?
Hello,
I am close to buying an XT600e from a private, local seller. It seems in good condition and the guy seems genuine, its only been owned by himself and a relative (he has all of the documents and MOT's). Only, the mileage is a little high (50,000km/30,000 miles) for what he is asking, and has the following advisories on the last MOT. Are these reasons for major concern?? I'm willing to learn and work on the bike myself, to get some experience before touring etc. - Front brake disc slightly worn - Rear suspension bush has slight free play - Front roller brake test indicates slight fluctuation of brake effort - Rear roller brake test indicates slight fluctuation of brake effort FUN is what I'm looking for, but seems hard to get big Honda XR's here in the UK. I've heard that the Yamaha is a good all rounder, but maybe a little uninspiring?? Any help is much appreciated :thumbup1: |
Hi
Depends on what price they are asking?? and what year it is I have a 2003 and I love it http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ps542a0ada.jpg But if the price is right go for it as you will do your own mods on it anyway |
Nice...I like the black XT's. Yeah sorry, it's a 2001, so not too old. Just used lots on the road. Is yours quick enough for fun without luggage etc? I'm not a boy racer but I don't want a donkey!

He wants £1650 for it, but I'll negotiate on the basis of high mileage, and there's some gaffa tape around the headlight that I need to find out more on.

50,000km? Go for it. I bought one with 76000km and never has a problem.
