TT600R spark plugs
I got it done, eventually, using a "universal joint" fitting from a 3/8" drive socket set; buying the right socket was another thing that took time in getting the right size.
If you do a search for "spark plug TT600R" (or words to that effect) in here, I posted some info at that time - mainly about spark plug sizes from memory. I was also tempted to drop the engine before I got this solution sorted out. |
I use a 3/8 drive 18mm deep socket with the universal joint and a small extension.

I took one of these cheap spark plug sockets that have one size on each end cut it in half and drilled a hole so that I could use a screwdriver as handel. Fits perfectly and I can just get it in and out without takening anything of the bike. Plus it´s light and fits in the bikes tool case.

Sockets
I have several cheapie tool kit sockets that I have ground down the outside of the socket to let them fit down in the head easier.

I used to get mad when having to take my sparkplug out of my Yamaha XT600 because the plug is so far in the cylinder head that it is difficult as hell to take it out... make yourself a tool that'll let you work with your sparkplug with ease :cool4:
Have fun |
Bog standard Yamaha tool kit plug socket does the job nicely, for me.
