Spark problems

Hi all I'm new on here I have built a few bikes before but rather than mess about head scratching I thought I would just ask here.
I'm building a xt600 tenre for a guy who brought two thinking that they where full bikes but there are just in bits anyway I have built one up got it all done and there is no spark from it. I have checked the loom all seems fine is there any way I can bypass loom just to fault find.
Any help would be good
As I'm stuck

Yes, it is important to give the details about you bike. When it comes to ignitions there are basically two styles. The older models have a CDI, usually kick start and the newer the TCi ignition and can be kick or electric start. Year models vary by country so an exact year is helpful but most important is the model type from your serial number. The CDI types are getting old and the spark they make gets weaker then sometimes intermittent or they are dead. The TCI models, I've never worked on one but understand it, require a good battery to function, dead battery, no spark.

Your problem is a common one and searching through posts with ignitions problems will provide you a wealth of info. If the one you are asking about is a CDI model I am happy to help, but do look at the recent post as mentioned above and you will get a good trouble shooting procedure outlined for you.
