Starting problems
 

Ok so hi to everyone, Ive just joined the group.

Ive recently purchased an xt600e 4tp 2002 with starting problems. The place i bought it from said it had starting and charging issues but I managed to start it but was very reluctant. It went for a while but then died. Now it doesn't start at all!!
Ive tried the spark test against the head but not getting a spark. Ive tried new :
1. Spark plug
2. Ignition Coil
3. Starter solenoid
4. Rectifier/regulator

Still not getting a spark. There has been a datatool alarm fitted at some point. Could it be this? Any ideas would be great.

Ive now removed the insulating tape and the wiring to the loom is very poor!

Voltage Drop Testing

It turned out that my bike's problems were caused by a combination of factors - most due to the age of the bike - so I landed up fixing 4 or 5 electrical and fuel supply faults before it decided to start when requested. Good luck!

would get rid of the alarm first, specially if the installation wasnt that professional and loom looks hacked

as a very first step check if you have +12V at the coil entry.
