Stator questions
 

Hi !
I got a 87 xt 600 tenere 1vj and had to change the enginecover on the stator. When I got the cover of I did see this different color on the stator, is this as it should be ? It looks like the 2 windings on top are coverd with som black stuff, is that correct ?
When I measures it with a multimeter it seems to be good, but I`m not sure.
If I had to replace it, where to bay and should I bay one that charges better ?
I would like to put in a picture but I don`t know how to do it, anyone that can give me some instructions how to do it ?
