steady aids......
Hi all, i have two questions you may be able to help me with...one is altogether more serious than the other...
Why do aircooled bikes have little rubber supports between the fins, does it matter if they are not there? Why would my tenere 1vj die under load then not start at all, yes, petrol and new spark plug present. The previous day it worked peachy?????? Cheers in advance |
Not sure about the rubber bung bit it may allow them to damp the vibrations therefore allowing them to make the vanes larger. I suppose if you take the bungs out then concievably the fins / vanes could snap off. Bike companies coste every screw thread so they seldom put in parts that arenot essential.

As for the dying under load have you got a tenere with a lagre tank 23 litre and therefore a fuel pump attached below it on the frame. The fuel pumps often break so can be bypassed to gravity feed. You only lose a
bout 2 litres of tank capacity so it is worth a try. Its easy to see how it works when you look. Charlie |
Ah, cheers for the heads up. Not done too much fiddling with it, awaiting a manual it should be here today. But there seems to be plenty of fuel available at the carb.........
