Stolen Yamaha Tenere Xt600-blue- In Kent

24-01-2009

BLUE YAMAHA TENERE 1987 model

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...6&id=710542615

Some F***ing Pikeys stole my beloved (and over insured) bike tonight at 20:45-21:00 hrs whilst I was in my house

The rear number plate was less than 3 inches from my front door (I had the battery on trickle charge)

So if you come across any 2nd hand parts for a 1VJ please post it here and send me a message as well.

As this bike has given me some great memories and was set to become a TravelBug itself (geocaching - anorak type game) I am particularly nauseated. I had major plans this summer which will need reviewing, racks etc etc. Ahhh bollocks

Its a Blue 23 liter'd model, yellow fork gaiters, Tank had some hastily done paint retouching. rack on the back, and a Garmin Etrex GPS mount on the handle bars. I also made my own wind shield which was fantastic. again Ahhh Bollocks.

Bastards bastards bastards.

On the bright side the Front sprocket was welded to the output shaft, and the rear wheel adjusters were on the last but one setting. Hee hee hee.
So it would have had to have been stripped for spares and even that would have meant extra effort, so will probably be dumped somewhere.

Interestingly I had a Maiko bend set of handle bars which resulted in a higher than normal set of handle bars and was a joy to ride, either standing up, or seated.

Absolutely gutted, hope that the Pikey trash scum come a cropper.

Apologies for those sensitive to violent language.

Graham

Sorry about your bike
If it was not locked kids may have just wheeled it away and with a flat battery they may not be able to start it.
Have a good look around your area they may have hidden it some where
Put up some posters with a contact no offering a small reward £50 or so some one may know where it is.
If it was pikeys they may phone asking for more money.
As you know the bike is worth alot more to you then it is to some one to break up and sell for spares.
The people who took the bike probadly think it an old Yamaha trail bike which wont be worth alot so may just dump it or burn it so get out with some posters.
A friend got his stolen TTR back like this
Good luck

Good luck with finding your bike!

And geocaching isn't anoraky like train spotting - I am a geocacher and disassociate myself with them completely!!!

Whereabouts in Kent has it gone missing from? I travel around mid-kent daily, so you never know what might be spotted?

Hi
Do you have any pictures of the bike you could post up?
I can see a box with a small X in your first post so may be its just my computer that cant see the pic.

Same here - perhaps repost the pic again?

I know how you feel. Sorry to hear the bad news and hope the bast**ds get caught.

A chassis number would be good to as there are others like me who are M/C mot inspectors, who look out for stolen bikes.

Thanks Guys

Really appreciate the response, kind of supportive.

Tenere Tom, Geocaching is the ultimate Anorak activity. In an evil twist of fate my magnetic TravelBag arrived today, I was about to make the bike a Geocache.

CHASSIS NUMBER 1VJ011503
ENGINE NUMBER 1VJ011503
REGISTRATION D323 JMK

Stolen from Rochester

If seen riding around most obvious feature is the very nice perspex screen, rising about 12 inches above the headlight cowl, tapered to 4 inches wide, and curled around at the sides.

This is unmistakeable.

Uploading a picture is a hell of a mission on this site, I have no space left.

Update

Oh the indignity, Ive now had my 2011 XT 660Z Tenere stolen too.

Upon reporting this to the police, it transpires the little dirtbag scum that stole it was caught with stolen goods two years later and confessed to stealing my Xt600 Tenere, but as it was two years later, the bike was never recovered.

The police have yet to formally communicate this with me, but the little F*@knutz entered a plea bargain to protect himself and rat out the circle of thieves.

100% of me hopes that the circle of thieving scum are reading this and know who the little scumbag is and beat the daylight out of him for putting the cops onto him.

Lesson learnt - I will be arranging an alternative location to store the replacement bike.
In the past 5 years, through no fault of mine, I have had to pay an higher insurance premium every month, lost the excess money as well as all the energy, time, effort and soul I put into restoring the bike.
That the little fornicating scum gets off scot-free and enjoys police protection. Little s4it knows where I live, and I don't know who he is or where he lives. He has no police record, not out of pocket and is probably receiving dole money paid by my F**ing taxes.

Sounds fair right? So there you have it, in the UK, if you're an honest working person you get screwed over, whilst if you're an unemployed scum, you get your every sordid whim catered for.

Cancer has a place for motorbike thieves.

Two words, Deadmans switch , Hook up a siren/ horn/unbelievably loud device to a the bike. Take a battery tender hookup and have it attached to the bike like a normal tender hookup only have the two wires connected together so as to have a completed circuit. Have a siren or whatever bolted somewhere on the house/garage that you keep the bike and on a relay that requires the circuit to be broken to set off. Then you just plug in to your bike and "arm" the relay. It'll look like you have the bike on a charger so any thieves will unplug it to take the bike. The alarm will go off then.
I made a setup like this for my trailer when traveling with my race quad. Disconnecting the trailer from my truck would set off the trucks alarm plus a separate siren . Had the same setup running through one wheel on the quad to complete the circuit, so even moving it also set it off.

I use this Abus Granit Quick 37 Disc Lock Motorcycle Locks & Security

You have to grind a little on the disc, if this is not enough i would bolt a chain to the house.
