Hey ya: Is it worth investing in fork springs and a new shock for a 3AJ before a NZ trip? I know there will be many opinions, right now the suspension feels a bit soft especialy fully loaded. Will the ride be be enhanced by fitting WP etc.

Yes, definitely, do yourself a big favour !
Progressive spring in the front fork, and either have the original rear damper rebuilt or buy good quality replacement.
