Tank Fitment
 

I have just purchased my XT a 1992 model, does anyone know what designation this has as I have seen other people refering to theirs as AJ3's for example?
Also will the larger 22 litre tank of an AJ3 fit on my 92?

Hi James,

The Tenere 3AJ and earlies petrol tanks will not easily fit your bike (don't know it's designation), much easier to fit an Acerbis tank designed for your model.

Unless you can weld the tank yourself, adapting an old tenere tank will cost more, will be harder to obtain and it's difficult to know how rusty it is inside towards the bottom.

I started down the modify route, but quickly decided against it.

the designation/model number is determined by the chassis number, which will be on the right hand side of the frame steerer tube. Alternatively, if thats hard to see, it will be on the logbook.
