The chain rollers

The plastic/rubber rollers that are above and below my chain seem worn and don't move so freely. Should I replace them? My mechanic says that they are okay but he thinks everything is okay until it breaks!

Hey, you should change it or at least check why it ain't rolling as it should... I also got to get both upper and lower chain rollers and that plastic thing that protects the swingarm from the chain.... I'm gonna get one chain guide to or even make my own because I hate loose chains and since I most times ride with my gf on the back the chain tends to strecth and get loose when riding alone :\

I may go a head and replace them, seems like some dirt has gotten in them and they don't turn so freely. I have to take the swing arm off to replace it.

I think you can take them out without having to take them off..... at least mine on my 1990XT600E they're fitted with a long screw (each one of course) ...have a look first and see what ya can do :cool4:
