Time for a change
Hi all
Well its time to retire the XT for a while and do a bit resto work on it as the rear of the frame is poor, so the blast and powder coat will begin soon, along with new wheels and plastics. Ive done some big miles of late on her and it's not getting any comfier or quicker , so I bit the bullet after some research and bought a Caponord, not to replace the XT but to compliment it. Hope I done the correct thing but only time will tell. |
Mike,
As the XT'S get older, it will become harder to find low mileage bikes in good nick. Shame it was discontinued in 2004 (XT600E). Been out on XT6E today - Sheppey to Bexhill. Fantastic ride in lovely weather. Wearing full kit (leathers) gets a bit hot and sticky when you come to a standstill. :frown: Every time I ride them I love them more. :thumbup1: I noticed how many other riders I passed totally IGNORED my polite head tipping! No manners... . I found the riders of little learner 125's more inclined to reciprocate. What has happened? Might start a thread on that subject....... Ride carefully and stay safe. bier |
I won't get rid of her, she's a great bike with a strong engine.
I always have a grin on my face riding it and its the perfect bike for round here. I hope a better one when finished thou, the Capo is a great too, but totally different to the XT. The Capo great on a long run and dual carriage, fun in the twisties, top heavy but comfortable. I always wave or nod as do most folk up here, even the scooter boys do. Great app for solo riders CRADAR It can save a life |
over here in the states it depends on which area of the country. In the northern Midwest ,where I live, most are just stuck-up. If it's a Harley rider they'll NEVER wave(except to another Harley) , just arrogance, that's the type of person they are. Sometimes a fellow endure rider will stick out their hand.
