Timing marks on the engine??
Hi Guys, i want to check/adjust the valve clearance on my tenere 1vj model, I would just like some clarification on a point before I go ripping in there are royally messing something up.
In my clymers manual it shows timing marks on the (flywheel ?) as a line with a T next to it.........now on the flywheel there are various marks including single line, double line and dots. Am I being stupid about this and the manual put the T there just to highlight the fact we use the single line as a marker ? or am I missing something? Cheers, looking forward to getting this back on the road.... |

Timing marks
Hi blackjack,
Yes, the marks are definitely there on the 3AJ engine in the TT600R, as per post 63 in here:- http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ht=oil+channel They can be quite hard to see when covered in oil, seen through the tiny window and in poor light BTW. There is no need to read the whole sorry story in that mammoth thread! |
Hi there, thanks for the infomation...........over the next few days I am moving the bike out of my carpark and into an all-together better enviroment for working on. I should progress further in 2 days than the previous 2 years its been sat there.........
