tres cool...
|
Did the guy re-developped the tele-lever?
It looks like the front suspensions on modern side-cars... It looks pretty cool and is way over-kill : I love it !:thumbup1: |
you should be the french speaker!
but it's very unlike the telelever, if anything more like the Bimota Tesi or ELF road racers, at least IMHO |

You're right, I'm french. Indeed, it is way closer to the Bimota Tesi... I love this kind of challenges ! It doesn't make any sense except for the sake of beautiful engineering ! |
where are you in the french alps? Im in milano but go often to Savoie and Alpes Maritimes for adv riding.
Should be there again in June.... |
The closest city is actually Geneva in Switzerland. Hit me up if you ever come around, I could join you on a day trip ;-)
|
we want to do part or the trans european trail TET between italy and france, but it's very towards south, we enter france near the coast above monaco...
but who knows were we end up :) |
Does it really add 75kg of extra weight or has my skim reading missed a bit?
Gonna make for a very heavy front end if it does. :( The adjustability brings to mind a quote from Colin Chapman (of Lotus fame): 'if I make it adjustable they'll adjust it wrong'. |

And you're right, adjustable is good at the condition it is adjusted the right way :P |
guess mostly it's because of my lack of some specific knowledge - i'd like there to be more details on photos/sketches, especially of the hub of the front wheel.
maybe it's not a breakthrough but still nice job was done, worthy corresponding yamaha's traditions of innovations (which were happening mostly in the past as i perceive) |
indeed, also the GTS1000 was an amazing tech feat, before bmw did all their alternative fronts but heavy as a pig too :)
|
Those hub centre + angle iron front ends have quite a history. Back in the early 70’s Difazio Motorcycles down in the West Country produced a load of them as ‘kits’ for a range of different road bikes.
From memory they had a reputation for being a little unstable at walking pace speeds and the hub centre setup meant restricted steering lock. I always thought they’d make an interesting alternative to the std forks but sadly there was always too much month left at the end of my money to find out. |
