TT600E Front Fork
Hi
Does anyone know how much oil should I put in the front fork? I searched the internet and did not find any information about this motorcycle... (Yamaha tt600e belgarda 1995) Thanks |
Have maintenance specs for the 96 4LW TT600E model and says 511ml oil each fork using Yamaha 01 which equates to 5W oil
|
oil volume is of relative importance and sometimes hard to know if fork is fully empty.
so it's much more useful to measure the "air gap" after filling (without springs) and regualte with a syringe + tube. with fork fully collapsed aim for 170-190mm. google for "fork oil air gap" videos modify the gap according to how soft/hard you want it, there's nothing holly in the 170-190 numbers |
Agreed but the spec for the oil level gap doesnt seem to be readily available from any of my manuals for the TTE. The 170-190 air cell gap is generally used for the TTR conventional forks. The TTE has USD forks so generally use a smaller gap.
The only reference I can find on air gap is at Kedo who sell springs for this bike. They recommend an air cell of 120mm. I would totally drain forks, add 500ml oil and see if you're close to that 120mm. |
you are totally right, forgot those ttr's were USD.... dont have off-roaders with USD in my stable but your number for air gap sounds good.
