TT600RE Fuel Range
Hi guys
TT600RE Fuel range question... What sort of range are you getting on a tank when you hit reserve? I’ve not had it long so I’ve only done a couple tanks. I’m getting 100km from 7ltr – It did surprise me when I hit reserve after a 100 clicks. Going to get a 23ltr tank I think. Still, proper happy with the bike. Shaun |
That's about it - not great fuel efficiency
That fuel consumption sounds familiar - the standard 10L tank is a pain a lot of the time.
It depends on your throttle hand of course! I have been known to carry a few litres spare fuel in the rucksac with the sandwiches! :rolleyes2: |
hi,
i have a TT600R 2003 and get 20 kms out of 1 liter with 100-120 km/h highway, no luggage. From what i read on HUB this is quite normal. cheers, Sander |
thanks
Hi Walkabout & Sanderd
Thanks for the reply Looks like that’s about right then! Sanderd…..You replied to my post on this thread http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ttr600re-33286 Since then I’ve been emailing the guy from off the road and I’m going to order the same panniers and rack system as yours when I get paid in 3 weeks. I’ll drop you a PM if that’s OK because you said you had some issues with fitting… So what range are you getting when loaded? Regards Shaun |

But, at 20 Km per litre that would give 200 Km to a tank, which = about 125 miles to a full tank. I recall getting about 100 miles from a full tank run on the reserve until just about dry (I remember miles, despite the Km clocks, because of riding along with other bikes). It's still down to the use of the throttle of course. |
When i stil had the original tank, it goes on reserve at about 160km, which leaves 2 liters reserve.
There seems to be an issue with certain models that the reserve level is wrongly adjusted in the fuel petcock. you can read that here: Reserveröhrchen I hope your german is not too bad... :cool4: pictures show the general idea. regards, Sanderd |

Still getting a 23ltr tank for it, coz that stock 10ltr thing is rubbish. |
Hi,
standard Acerbis tank for the TTR(E) is 20ltr. you can buy larger tanks but that will cost you BIG $$... cheers, Sander |
Acerbis tank is definately 20 litre. Me and a mate got over 26 kpl in Morocco once, fully loaded. We were using the local super (leaded) fuel and taking it steady. The TTR/RE is very sensitive to a heavy right hand, something to do with the 2 stage carb. Once you hit a certain point on the throttle stroke you open the second carb. This is to give you good acceleration for overtaking etc. If you can keep running on the primary stage, you will save fuel.
