TT600RE - None genuine spare parts and acessories.
I have a newly acquired Yamaha TT600RE (often mis represented as TTR600RE)
Apart from the common 3AJ engine parts, I'm having a hard time finding anyone who supplies pattern parts. I can't find throttle cables, clutch cables etc and I'm not sure how easy it will be when needed chains, sprockets or brake pads etc. I really need throttle cables but genuine are £150 and pattern ones are always listed to fit but when delivered they are for the TT600R (Different) What I'm after is a list or knowledge base of 'Cross-over' parts. Help !!! |
hi ted throttle cables should be the same but the clutch cables are different re has to fit around the starter motor, venhill do cables ,Venhill.co.uk Motorcycle Braided Brake Hoses, Lines and Clutch Cables ,and, OFF-THE-ROAD | Zubehör und Tuningteile rund um den Enduro-, Rallye- und Super-Moto Sport ,and, KEDO - Performance Products ,also http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/tt_600_re/03/ ,hope this helps steve

Go to motorcyclespareparts.eu and find your bike (excellent site, used them many times)
The click on the parts fiche and find the part you need. Copy the part number and go back to the front page. Click on "Instant Part Search" and insert your part number. The search results will tell which Yamaha's share that same part. EDIT: insert part number in "Part Number Search" Maybe you can find non-OEM that fit the TT but are meant for other bikes, or cheaper OEM for other models. Makes sense? If not, let me know and I'll try again. P.S I've found that Germany is aflood with TT parts. Chains, sprockets, pads etc. is nothing more than a few clicks away. |
Throttle cables on the RE go straight into the throttle with barrel adjusters. All the ones people send me have a U-bend on them where they attach to the throttle grip.
I know parts from other bikes will be the same but I just don't know which ones ! |

A lot of parts are discontinued. Problem is, all the fiches show different cables than what I have. I'm almost certain that mine are standard fitment but it's hard to know. I know Yamaha just had a kind of firesale when they made the TT600RE and through anything on it. It's a really good bike. I like it. I took it trail riding last weekend on some pretty technical trails in the Dales. It did really well considering it was the heaviest, oldest bike in the pack. Not a hardcore off-roader by todays standards but as a travel bike with great offroad capability, its a good choice. It's the same weight as my DRZ400 but with more low down torque. I find the carb a bit finicky but I think it needs some further fettling. It's still really only good below 70mph though. |

Not all years are listed. For example I can't find my 2001 TTR, only the 1997 (launch year) and 1999 are listed. Don't ask me why. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d019e7e568.jpg |
For example...rear calipers have part no 4GVF58110000
I did a search and the following models share the exact same rear calipers. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6878a5c5ff.jpg |

Hi Ted
Ive got a set of 2nd hand geniune xt600e throttle cables if theyre any use to you for measuring etc. If thats any good to you? Bill |
Also a kedo catalogue (in german) if thats at all useful
Bill |
I myself ordered a pair of pattern ttr600re throttle cables...and when they arrived wouldn't fit at all.... some ebay sellers also list clutch cables for the same models but these wont fit either..
|
try KEDO & wemoto....

AHHHHHHH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
Kedo have saved the day. At £100 a pair though, they can kiss my ass. These are the cables fitted to the bike. http://www.kedo.com/ssl/grafic/Katalog/002730.gif However all the fiches and pattern parts supplies (Even the genuine Yamaha fich) show a totally different design. eg. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDYwMA...WTIQ2/$_12.JPG I knew I wasn't imagining it :D |
