ttr belgarda brake spring
Hi.
Whilst looking at a parts schematic for my bike -97 ttr 600 belgarda - I noticed a return spring on the rear brake pedal which I dont have. I'd seen the locating hole on the pedal but not really given it any thought. Anyhow, its clear where one end of the spring goes - in the hole on the pedal, immediately below the master cylinder - but I cant work out where the other end is supposed to go. The picture on the parts list just has it floating in mid air. If someone with a ttr could have a look and let me know I'd be very grateful. |
Bike is parked away right now and I'm working, but I can look on Saturday if you want?

Brilliant, thanks.

Hmm i can see the spring if i google "tt600r" and zoom in on the couple first pictures.. but can't recall if there's one in mine.. guess i'll have to take a look out of curiousity.

Checked.. i don't have one. Guess it's not so important then :D but i saw a small hole under the frame just in front of the master cylinder. Maybe theres a hook in the spring that is supposed to go there? Google the tt600r pictures and zoom in and you will figure it out :)

No it's not the same. If you check images of tt600r the brake pedal mechanism is completely different and the spring goes down and towards front from the brake pedal

fake news removed :)

Is this the spring you're talking about?

That's it. And there you can see the small hole in the frame. So my suspicions were correct :)

That's the one. Not surprised I couldn't spot where the other end goes, just the tiniest hole in the frame, just looks like a mistake. Not sure if I'll replace the spring , seems to work perfectly well without it.
Thanks for taking the time to get the picture, much appreciated. Here's a photo of the bike. Minus luggage, all prepped for a week off roading in the Pyrenees. |
No worries. Glad i could help.
Good looking bike! I bought the same rack too from Kedo, but the holes weren't aligned properly so couldn't mount it. I've since found a used Hepco Becker rack instead. I've just returned from a trip to Morocco. 9 countries and 9000 km in a month. The Pyrenees were among the highlights of the trip! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bed8657eca.jpg |
I know what you mean about the rack, had a right old wrestlnng match to get it to fit. Had to enlarge the holes and bend it a bit to get it on, bit disappointing really cos it's not as if it was stupidly cheap. I would have sent it back but I'd already tampered with it. Now I'm too scared to take it off again. I might look for a hepco Becker.
Last year we did 3000km in 10 days to and from Spain. Ferry to Santander, then trans pyrenness trail to Andorra, 2 days nav event then home the same way. Living off the bike, wild camping in the middle of nowhere. The very best of times. Wish I had the time and money to do more. This year we have to cheat, bikes being taken in a van, just got 6 days there this time. |
