I often hear much contempt for teh squarer section old Dunlop universals, but they were my favourite rear tyre (in conjunction with an avon front) and would probably suit your riding style also. These put a lot of tread down on the road when upright, and also provide a lot of grip from teh sides in soft stuff. |
Metzeler Tourance
Hey there! I run Metzelers Tourance front and back for some years now, and I'm very content with them! Averages: front about 25000km, back about 18000km. That'll do, I guess!! Greetz, Hans. P.s.: I also ride hard, sometimes offroad, mostly onroad. Best tip: watch your tyre-pressure!

Quick update on the tyre wear
The wear has really slowed down and is now more like I expected and on a par with my experience with my R1200GS I realise now that the extreme wear happened during a record heat wave we had here in South Australia we had something like 3 weeks where the day temps were above 35 degrees everyday My riding style has remained the same but the tyre has stopped wearing at the alarming rate that it was doing Seeing that I do 95% of my miles on tarmac I think I might try a more road orientated tyre lke a Tourance or Anakee Thanks for you responses Cheers Mike |
