valve clearance xt660 3tb1
 

Hi guys just got a xt600 it a year 91 and am in need of some help on 2 points is the valve clearance between 2and 4 thou on the intake and 47to 67 thou on Ex seems very big and also synchronization of the secondary carb i have seen on the site 5mm and 7mm and pointers for this year would be of great help thanks inadvance stomper

One of the things I think you are asking about the valve clearances and how to set them to normal position...

The other thing I have no idea...

sorry vando just need the size for valve settings and when the second carb starts to open is it 5mm or 7 mm

Set intake at 0.10 and exhaust at 0.15. Remember to do it with a cold engine, as things expand when hot.

I dont know for the carb yestion, cant see why one would need to adjust it. But the manual for a 1990 states to raise the primary throttle valve to 7mm. Is that what your're asking?

Hi Jens yes that correct the second carb sync was opening to early i got it as a non runner and the carb had been dismantled for cleaning thanks stomper ps has your manual got the size in thou for the valve clearance

Oeh shit. Dont use my specs for valves, didnt see it was a 660. Dont know about that, tho I would gees that it aint way of.
