WANTED: rear rack for 1995 XT600E
I'm looking for a simple rear luggage rack for the XT (plan: bolt on old ammo box as shopping topbox/foundation for world tour luggage system). Does anyone have one lying around, perhaps after an upgrade? Something with pannier frames would be beyond wonderful, but the rack is the essential bit. Tatty is OK, as long as it's sound. PM or reply here if you can help.
Thanks. Rich |
I might be able to help - I bought a rack of ebay for my '84 XT600 but it didn't fit. I beleive it was for a 1VJ. It way fit yours. I'll try to get a photo.

Could be what I am looking for, thanks Tom. Have sent you a PM.

I've got one I built for my 1990 XT600E, sturdy and black. I have the side racks and top case (GIVI knockoff), too. I'm not sure how killer shipping would be across the Atlantic.

Thanks Micah, but I am really looking for something I can bolt an army surplus ammo box to, so the Givi plate would be no use to me. I would think the shipping cost would kill the deal too. Thanks anyway :)

Hey Micah, If you're interested in selling that in the U.S., let me know! That looks like it would work on my XT. Thanks, Alfredo |
Still looking, if anyone has anything suitable. The bike is a 3TB, by the way, and it looks like stuff for the earlier models (1VJ and 3AJ) won't fit.

xt 600 rack
hi richard, this will be my first post so please excuse any mistakes, i dont think i'm allowed to pm you as i'm too new.......the point is this....i've made several rack type things for different bikes including 3 different types for my own 4pt xt. If you would like to see some pm me with a email address and i'll send some photos. if you send some dimensions i'll clod something together. alternatively i'm in staffordshire if ever you are this way.
cheers Loz |
Hey Loz - just too late! I ended up getting a genuine Yamaha one earlier this week. It's advertised as fitting 92 to 02, but it must be for the post-95 bikes as it took a bit of bodging to fit. I'm still interested in ideas for pannier racks etc., so I'l give you a shout. Thanks for the offer.
(No mistakes that I could see, by the way.) |
