3AJ Or is it 2kf engine, 3aj cylinder and 2kf top?

jjrider 24 Nov 2014 22:33

No, thats not it, sort of, look close at all parts.

Pongo 24 Nov 2014 23:03

My guess is it`s a Yamaha xt 600

xtrock 24 Nov 2014 23:19

43f in the bottom then?

jjrider 25 Nov 2014 01:01

The bottom isn't even a bike motor, top is.

I did have it running for a short time this spring just to verify it would work but several things needed to be done before I'd put it together with good parts.

Edit, the bottom actually does have a European bike version of it though without reverse.

OK biting my fingers to not give it away...

Raptor bottom & XT600 top end.

Mezo.

Mezo 25 Nov 2014 09:13

That`s a hybrid, its a Raptor 660 bottom end with an XT600 top end.

Mezo.

"The bottom isn't even a bike motor" Well if it only moves forward it must have been for a jetski or old snowmobile.

Ya and a liquid cooled one at that, which is why I put an old XT topend on it, no room for the radiators(or really a need for it). It is 101mm high comp Raptor piston and sleeve though rather than the 95mm XT. My one worry is the piston tapping one of the intake valves at higher rpms, I confirmed it doesn't at just above idle, but do to no head oiling at the time I couldn't rev it or run it for long before tearing apart to see how things were living. (I was hand pumping oil into the end of the cam as it was running.
