xt 250

I am thinking about buying the first mate (wife) a xt 250:scooter:, she already has a
f650gs single, however I would like her to shape up offroad a bit and Wanda (f650) name comes from where will we wanda next (her version) wanda why its always on the ground (my version) is a tad or a ton to heavy for her.
The xt 250 is a wee bike with a wee tank and I want it to be a bit like a Jockey a wee person with a big @#$% well you know ! Is there any aftermarket fuel tanks for these or is it a couple of 2 litre Coke bottles hidden in a couple of Andy Strapzs ?:eek3:

Thanks
Paul

Morning Paul,

Good choice, I've got an XT250 and it's the right size, weight etc for me (1m60ish), although I did come off in spectacular style last week and it's not quite as pretty looking as it was!
You can get a Clarke tank which will give you extra fuel capacity but your best bet would be to look here as its got loads of info, upgrades etc.

I had a XT250 many years ago. Bought it heavily used with 70.000 km on the clock. The bike was extremely reliable all the same. I had it for a few years, used it off and on road, only did routine maintenance. Low on power , but easy to handle and user friendly…

Great little bikes - a mate had one a few years back, and though it was a bit underpowered it went everywhere. One thing to really watch out for, esp as it will be ancient now is something that's pretty common on old trail bikes: when his swingarm bearings needed replacing, the spindle wouldn't shift, even when we lifted it onto a 20 ton press! In the end we had to saw through the swingarm and spindle to get it out, and buy new ones. Worth looking very closely at this on any one you're looking to buy!
