xt 600 not charging
 

I have a 1984 xt600 that is not charging. It stalled for some reason going about 50 mph. After attempting to start it for about five minutes I discovered the kill switch was on.:oops2: After fixing that it started immediatley. In the coming days the bike ran and started fine however my lights would die out until I recharged the battery. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

Happened to me - started backfiring, then stalling. Lights on made it worse. It was a failed reg/rec unit. Easy to check if you have a multimeter, and easy to fix.
