xt 600 rebuild

Put the engine back in the frame after soda blast and high temp paint, i think it look good:D,
So that's it work is over now, just need to connect electrics, oil line, carbs and starter and exhaust Here is what I've done: FRAME Frame sanded and painted, New fork seals and spring, new fork gaiter Head bearings, Swing arm bearing rebuilt, Rear shock rebuilt and polish, Loom wire refurbished, New tube, tyres, brakes pads, brake disc,brake line, New hand grips, Starter motor rebuild and polish, ENGINE, Cylinder head port and valves cleaning, new valves seals, I had changed ,timing chain, and piston rings at 50 k already Head pipes, rust removed and polished, New Leo Vince silencer Cost around 1500 euros! which is what I would get for a used xt, but mine will be "like new" Will post more pics soon. Can't wait to ride it again! |

Everytime i see a post like this it reminds me i realy should do something similar to mine. Nice work though and well done, hope ya get on n finish it and enjoy it. |
No powder coating just halford black paint the idea was 1 to do everyting myself 2 keep cost down the one outsourced job was soda blasting engine

That's some nice work. I would be interested to see more pics, as I am about to start something similar on my XT600E, and trying to do as much for myself as I can. Did you take the engine apart for the soda blasting, or was it all done in one piece? |

No the engine was off the frame anyway for soda blasting, as the all bike was in bits!
Today I put all the rest together and that's itAttachment 9700 |

ah ok, well yes the whole engine was soda blasted...I only removed the head at som stage to do the port as well... heavy yes to carry around from the various location I could say it was a blasting cabinet though...
