LOADS of potential with that Beast G600!:thumbup1:
Good chance your weak lights symptom could be a faulty regulator/rectifier.... Common prob & Easy to fix!:mchappy: |
i just got my 94 xt600 started and running last week. it sat for about 7 years. i looked inside the tank, after I had to break off the lock, and it was a little rusted with crappy looking gas inside. I drained the gas and it was brown from the rust inside. I bought por 15 gas tank sealer, changed gas, new battery and plug along with taking the carb apart and cleaning. I also changed the old oil. it runs good now. I still havent gone on a long ride but i hope to soon

Thanks guys, I am pretty wound up over this old thing. I guess I will never really grow up…
YamaHead – I will check the regulator/rectifier first. I hope it isn’t the stator, but even if it is, it shouldn’t be a big problem. Simple is good.. Angelglo – good to know. The tank on the 550 is rusty and was treated 12 years ago. It got some sort of internal plastic coating. It seems to hold up still, but I don’t trust it. I want to get a plastic tank that looks like the stock one, since I want to keep the bike looking as stock as possible. http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/v...0_small_05.jpg http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/v...0_small_04.jpg |
