XT600e 2003 parts maual
Hello fellow thumpers
I killed my baby (bike) I gave her a wash and now she is dead, no electrics, "I know I should be hung out to dry" and I cannot find the fuse, so after checking the 89 W and 90 EA model's I noticed they vary quit a lot so much so one has a fuse and the other does not, as with the CDI unit. does anybody have the parts manual, I tried to IM "Dakota" cos she on a previous thread she might have one but I am not able to IM her due to being a newbie to this site. See My Baby attached: hikeifulike@yahoo.com |

Hi, The fuses on your model are located just behind and internal to the frame down tube as indicated by the yellow dot on your original image. Just remove the side panel and bingo!

Now then, i found two fuses but they are not blown, so i took my battery off tonight and have put it on charge...here's hoping its that, but it was working fine before the "dreaded wash" and i have never heard of shorting out a battery, but hey who knows.
as a matter of interest,... after i washed it and thought it was all dry i turned the key...green light came on and when i pressed the starter i heard a wierd noise like something shorting or battling to ignite "for a better word" , so immediately cut the power, after a long while in the sun i tried it again, and again the noise so i left it the whole day, and when i tried again later, there was no noise after the green light but now its completely dead...any ideas anyone? Oh and the manual is fantastic, thanks again Dakota. |
there is a God
:funmeteryes::clap::D IT WORKS!!! My babe is alive....It was the bloody fuses after all....you know what, she uses the same fuses as a car, 2 yellow 20 amp fuses, and let me tell you, even when they look like they are OK, the old ones that is...don't believe your eyes, spend 1.19 at Halfords on the way home in desperation...put them in and watch the little green light come on. I am so happy I could shit.
Thanks to all that gave me advice and my Angel in Spain for the Pdf. Long live the thumper, born to rip and shred. |

Pleased it's all working again. You can ride down to the HU meeting in Spain we're planning for next year now!!
If anybody else wants the catalogue, I have a 72 page pdf for a XT600E (4PTB Europe/4SL7 Switzerland) with parts exploded drawings and all the part numbers, circa 2001. PM me your email address and I'll send it. |

XT600 Manual
Would it be too ruse of me to ask if anyone has an english version of a workshop manual for an XT 600e 1996. I have been looking for one of some time.
I'm currently undertaking a rebuild of my old XT. She has done many more KM's than most and is in need of some TLC. |
I'm struggling to find any servicing info. as well. Being a newbie i can,t seem to pm anyone either. Can anyone send me a manual or point me in the right direction. This is very frustrating given the popularity of this bike!
