XT600E default sprocket size
Hi,
Im a new owner of a Yamaha XT 600 E 2001 model :) I noticed that my bike feels a little low geared and im not sure whether the sprockets are changed by the previous owner to another size. The rear sprocket says 45 teeth. I havent checked the front yet. When im going on 4th gear at 4000 rpm the bike will have a speed of 80KM/H (49mph). Do you think this is the standard gearing? It doesnt feel good to use 5th gear below 85-90KM, the rpm is low, though Im not sure what rpm this bike can go at while cruising? 2-3000rpm is ok? |
sounds pretty stock
it should be 15-45. I didn't use my 5th gear under 100km/t as I felt it wasn't running smooth. Dont know the english word for when a bike strugles when you try to rev it in to high a gear. I've geared mine down to 14-45 so that i can use my 5th gear on the highway. ' check Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Gearing Ratio Sprocket RPM Speed Chain Calculator I've added the Xt600 from year 1990. It sees to have same gearing as yours, and as mine xt600e from 2003. Great site where you can play with different gearings. |
