XT600e front brake lever shorty replacement

Hi, I'm looking for a nice shorty front brake lever as a replacement for the stock lever on a 2002 XT600e. Can anyone recommend a suitable make/model that will fit directly available in the UK? Thanks

I bought some from ebay, they were a bit shorter.

Downt have pic of them mounted as I recall, but I can take one and have it uploaded in a day or so.

As I recall, I had to modify/grind the brakelever ever so slightly, because it was activating the brakelight when mounted.

You think they are good in use compared to the original?

I was going to try a set of MSR adjustable reach short levers, just haven't gotten that far down the list yet. Many have improved leverage so actual pull weight isn't any more than the longer ones.

They fitted fine and i really like the brake lever, the clutch lever i wouldnt call a 2finger, it was more like 3 fingers and didnt do much difference.

Try to mount the lever/mirror-mount longer to the right on the handlebar, so it cleares your 3rd finger. Hope it makes sence. :D

Yes but then again you get mirror sight in your arm and it will look strange with the gap, dont know why they didnt make them same length.

reach?

Hi,

Are these leavers closer? i.e. not as far to reach with your hand on the bars?
I don't have small hands but the stock leavers seem quite a stretch away!

Cheers.

Yes its closer, but i would recomend something better with adjustment. Problem with short lever like this is that if you want to get brake when you touch lever its almost already braking. Had some bad experience with brake hanging on when it was warm up and more pressure in system. You get what you pay for in this game..
