XT600e fuel filter & hose size
 

I want to put on an in-line fuel filter, and wanted to confirm what size I need. Is it 6 mm? Also, what length do I go for to fit on existing fuel line?

When installing it, does it go on the left hand side just after the petcock?

Yes 6mm is what I used. Fit it between the petcock and the carb inlet. If you've a long range tank you'll need two. I suggest get a short length clear one as there isn't much room there. Clear so you can see the debris collect.

Remember to properly clip the lines onto the filter. If/when there is an airlock in the filter, the air will expand as it heat and separate the joint. This causes 20 litres of fuel to piss onto the floor outside of Fenchurch Street station. The Police were NOT impressed.
