XT600E indicator switch
Hello,
Riding home tonight my indicator started to misbehave - it wouldn't acknowledge that I was turning right! I was clicking the switch that way but nothing was happening. Got home and without gloves could feel a kind of scratchiness when operating the indicator switch. This would suggest a bit of grit or something has got in there. However, on dismantling the switch cover and removing the switch mechanism I can find no cause for this awkward movement. Has anyone any thoughts or had this before? The indicators will turn on ok now, but they are difficult to turn off as the switch is reluctant to return to the middle setting. Relatively minor problem I know, but frustrating nevertheless. Any help much appreciated. Cheers, Biggy |
put a bit of teflon grease in there and it'll all be fine! ;)

There`s a tiny little sprung loaded ball bearing that locates the switch to center, it gets full of grime over time (mezo the poet) and needs cleaning & re-greasing.
Suggest you pull it apart totally & clean it properly with de-greaser or WD40 & then put it all back together using grease. Worked for me. :D Mezo. |
