Yamaha Tenere - Where to put the scottoiler???

Hi,

I've got an 2009 Yamaha XTZ660 Tenere and im in the process of fitting a scottoiler (e system) and can't find a decent place to put the resovoir!

Has any one else put one on theirs? If so where did you put it? I don't want anywhere to close to the exhaust.

Thanks for any help here.

Using the sort of double sided rubber holder, most have cable tied it to the frame on the right side, next to the engine.

I don't like this location, so I used the bolt on bracket, has two rings that the scottoiler fits into. I drilled a small hole in the plastic area that holdes the electronics (under the seat) - it's hard to describe and I cant get a picture right now. but if you look from the righ side of the bike it sits in the top right of the wheel arch. You can just see it in this picture ->

Above the rear hanger.

It give it lots of hight so priming it is very easy.

I managed to squeeze mine between the left hand fork leg and the
headlight shroud - it's easy to fill there, can be adjusted on the move
and gives a good head for delivery. Run the pipe under the tank and down to the gearbox sprocket where I made a small alloy clip to hold it over the
sprocket - works well.
When I bought the bike it had one of those number plate reservoirs on
which the previous owner had never managed to get working effectively
and I wasn't surprised at that as the oil had to travel upwards under the seat
and then down the frame - gravity certainly wasn't helping there !
On my road bike I have cobbled together an alloy sports bottle of 1/2 litre
capacity and this feeds an electric fuel pump to deliver oil when I need it
- nothing like being in control. If I was planning a long trip on the XT this
is a mod I definitely consider doing...:scooter:

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. I have gone with using the pannier frame and the lube tube is under the seat. If it doesn't work out it can always be moved. I've added some photos for you to see my bike.

Why, thankyou.

Unfortunatly, she doesn't look quite as she did in that picture... a few mile on dirt and one or two 'horizontal' adventures have given her some character...
