Yamaha TTR600re
Hi All-
Can anyone recommend luggage for the TTR600re, (2004 model). Top box, panniers, anything really, just a bit new to luggage and need a few pointers. Am interested mainly in commute-style luggage initially as opposed to long-haul. Much appreciated, Thumpage |
OK, I guess I should have put luggage in the thread title!
I am looking at the Hepco and Becker stuff now and also saw some suggestions on other threads, including Kedo and enduropack. |
hi have a look at (offtheroad.de) they have some very nice stuff hope this helps steve

I am in the middle of rebuilding a TT600RE 04, for mine I had a custom rack built and powder coated.
There are options out there, UK seems very expensive but the German site does a rack for about 200 euros Cheers Geordie aka Will |
Metal mule do a set of racks for the TT600RE. Expensive again but top quality.

luggage.
Can't help much but if you want to just use throw overs, you'll need to make up a small alloy plate to keep the pannier on right side off the exhaust pipe. Ortlieb's rack pack strapped on across the bike with a rokstrap, or a pair of rack packs, one each side, are OK but not solid or supportive. Lindsay.

Thanks all! I will get on the case, Germany does seem to have more options.
Geordie, do you have a blog/site detailing your modification exploits? |
Hi, I've just fit the Metal Mule rack to my TTR and first impressions are very good. It's very well built and very strong (but a bit awkward to fit). I think you could have something similar fabricated locally for much less than what Metal Mule charge, or like me, find something second hand.
I very nearly went for the offtheroad.de rack and would like to see one in the flesh. http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...203TT600R3.jpg http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...203TT600R8.jpg |
fitting right?
hi steve from your pics it looks like the left side frame is a lot more forward than the right side ? the rear rack seems to fit in different points on the side frames is this right ? bike looks great though steve

Thanks Steve, I've just had the back half of the bike off for a rebuild and clean, so that's why it looks so tidy.
I think it's the camera angle. Though the exhaust side is further out from the centre line of the bike. http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...03TT600R10.jpg |
Hi
I am currently in the middle of a complete rebuild (fitting the airbox to the carb is really doing my head in !!!!!) Will post pics when done, as for the frame, I had a local guy fabricate them so they fit my pelican cases Cheers Geordie aka Will |

As for the airbox, I also had a headache getting it attached to the carb properly. The last guy who'd had the airbox off hadn't seated it correctly on the carb and as a result it was distorted out of shape. Hot water managed to soften it so I could reshape it. I found the best method was to get one sleeve on the carb and tightened so it's secure, then do the second. Otherwise it kept popping off. Steve |
Thanks for that Steve
I was wondering if that was the case, I get one on and the other pops off ! going to warm them up Cheers Geordie aka Will |
