Yamaha XT 600E 2002 JYADJ02
Hi to all,
I recently bought a used XT 600E . The carter number begins with J302E and the serial number with JYADJ02. I'm looking for a wiring diagram for this but i can't really find anything. My real problem is that all wiring diagrams i have found for XT 600 talk about a B/W wire which goes from key switch to CDI unit at the back. The problem is that i can't find any B/W wire anywhere on the whole circuit and I can't find any of the existing wires that connect to key switch that has continuous circuit with ground while switch is off or lock or P. Moreover half of the wires have different colors and color codes that do not exist on the diagrams. I want my alarm to intersect in that wire for 2 reasons : The 1 is for the remote ignition function and 2) my alarm to act as an immobilizer. The general idea is to cut this cable and put the 2 cables from the alarm that decide if this cable is grounded or not. Any help is appreciated. I ve been searching for 1 week now and i can't find something. Thank you for your time. |
Hej,
you will need a wiring diagram not older than '95 when the ignition changed from CDI to digital transistor. Hope I'm not wrong with the year. I'll try to load a jpg, in the case it will not work - send me your e-mail. #10 is ignition unit, #7 is key switch Good luck! |
Thx for the answer pal , it was quick too... I see the colors now match at a quick glance i had cos i dont have much time right now , but i'm left with the question which one is the substitute of B/W in older models? I understand that it's not the same logic behind the whole circuit but i believe it's around L/B or R/B that go to number 10. BTW can you send me the legend too> or post me a link somewhere?
If you know something plz say , but either way this was a great help. C ya. |
1 generator, 2 regulator, 3 fuse, 4 battery, 5 starting relais, 6 starter engine, 7 ign. lock, 8 kill switch, 9 starter switch, 10 ignition unit, 11 ignition coil, 12 spark plug, 13 diode, 14 clutch switch, 15 side stand switch, 16 neutral gear switch, 17 cockpit lights, 18 neutral gear control , 19 flasher control, 20 high beam control , 21 brake light switch back, 22 brake light switch front, 23 tail- and brakelight, 24 position light, 25 flasher, 26 headlight, 27 horn switch, 28 light switch, 29 flash light switch, 30 high beam switch, 31 flasher switch, 32 flasher relais, 33 horn.
B black, Br brown, Ch chocolate, Dg dark green, G green, L blue, O orange, P pink, R red, Sb sky blue, W white, Y yellow, B/R black/red, B/W black/white, Br/L brown/blue, Br/W brown/white, G/W green/white, G/Y green/wyellow, L/B blue/black, L/R blue/red, L/W blue/white, L/Y blue/yellow, R/B red/black, R/W red/white You stopp the old models by connecting the CDI to ground (the B/W cable from ign. lock or kill switch). For your alarm you should have an installation manual. If not - it should not be too difficult to make the immobilizer function working. The remote starter is another case. You need to send ground to the starting relais as well as + to the ignition. But make sure that the side stand switch still works, otherwise you'll have a bad surprise if the bike is not in neutral gear. - btw: is there a remote choke too:confused1: anyway - good luck Uwe (3AJ - kickstart only:thumbup1:) |
Well thanks for your input...
Well here is my situation till now . My alarm gives a remote ignition wire that when you press the button on the remote it gives +12V... Well this is not suitable for me since the only way to make the ignition work is through grounding the L/W wire going to start relay.... I know this overrides all the safety measures of sidestand neutral etc. but it's the only way since the start button is the last switch which can't be overridden otherwise... If you can think of any other way then tell me... So i put an external relay to convert those 12V to ground switch... I have connected a wire that gives power to Br so automatically if the RUN/STOP switch is closed , gives power (+) to ignition unit (10) when i press remote ignition button. The problem is the L/Y that becomes L/B after the main switch and its the ground of ignition unit. So that is a big difference to the former B/W since now L/B needs to be grounded for the ignition to work! If i put a jumper in L/Y and L/B then the remote ignition is ready. The disadvantage is that the motor will work if someone short-circuits 1) Br with R 2) L/W and L/Y with B . But this is no great problem cos if someone has enough time to do this then it's a matter of time for the bike to be stolen no matter what... Finally i believe that those 2 immobilizing cables from alarm should intersect to L/B cable . Any feedback is welcome....All i said are theoritical cos i dont have time now to check them correctly . Thank you |
Hi Folks,
I'm a newb to the site (first post), found this place and figured it would be a good forum to register on. I've just bought the same bike (JYADJ02), it's a 2002 on a UK 52 plate. Is this my model no, or is there a three letter abbreviation of this more commonly used, such as JYA or J02? (ie: bubbla's bike is a "3AJ") Please could I also get a copy of the wiring diagram (colinbal4@hotmail.com)? Thanks |
