Horizons Unlimited Montenegro Event Schedule
The Plan
Our plan is very simple. We will wait for your arrival on Thursday and you will be a part of our story for the next three days! Share your experiences with other participants, learn something from them or you teach them, take a ride thru unspoiled nature.
Presentations will start on Thursday afternoon, continue on Friday and Saturday during the whole day. For those who want to get in touch with our beautiful and unspoiled nature we can suggest some routes (gravel and paved) which we planned for Friday and Saturday. After Saturday barbecue, on Sunday morning everybody goes in their own direction. Some will go back home, and some who knows, maybe will continue further after getting some great ideas during the meeting.
Presenters at HU Montenegro 2014 included...

Cristina Bianchi & Knut Fjeld (Italy & Norway)Two dreamers on the Silk Road - A journey on the Silk Road from Italy to Mongolia via the Pamir Highway. |
On the Silk Road from Italy to Mongolia and back across Siberia, the sleeping land. A dream lasted 93 days, 28000 km.
We had a dream: riding on the Silk Road to Mongolia to meet different people and cultures. But in 2012 the dream came true: three months on a modern horse, our BMWGS Adv. Riding always to the east from Italy we crossed the deserts of Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, up in the beautiful scenery of Tajikistan mountains we crossed the Pamir Highway (the second highest international road in the world) and arrived to the wild Mongolia. After a crazy misadventure we were able to come back riding to the west across Siberia and Europe.
Cristina: I've always had a passion for bikes and travels since I was young. Finally I could realize my dreams and started to travel by bike with my husband, Knut.
Knut: I used to ride a bike back in Norway but after moving to Italy I was without one for many years.
We started to travel by bike again in 2000 and never stopped since. We've been to Spain, France, Germany, Denmark,Norway, Greece, Turkey, Albania, Syria, Jordan...and every year we get further and further...
Marko & Maja CalasanRound the World |
Maja and Marko have fairly recently got into motorcycling, but managed to quickly develop an obsession for travelling on 2 wheels. In 2009 Marko bought his first motorcycle, and explored Balkans and Europe with Maja behind him on the passenger seat.
After moving to the Netherlands, Maja started to be bored being on a bike and not driving it, so in 2013 she started a motorcycle course. Barely after finishing her training, they took their 2 BMW F650 GS and spent 3 months travelling around the world, crossing Europe, Russia, Mongolia, South Korea and the USA.
Ivan Lipicnik (Slovenia)Motorcycle journey as the perfect holiday |
Ivan has been riding his bike for almost 35 years. Every holiday in these past 35 years he spent on his bike. But he still remembers his first ride on a friend's Jawi CZ350 from Slovenia to Croatia (Dubrovnik) in the 1980s.
After that, he travelled on his BMW to Iceland, North Africa and the Balkans.
In the past 20 years, his best friend's BMW R80GS, which led him to Nordkapp (Norway), the Middle East, Iran and Vladivostok (Russia).
Vladimir Jovicic (SRB)Ride around the world |
Three motorcycle drivers started from Montenegro and took the tough road around the world, struggling through beautiful nature and rough roads through Siberia and Road of Bones, and further through Alaska, Canada, USA and Europe for the greatest adventure of their lives!
Rodoljub Roki Rogosic (GER)From Germany to Morocco and back |
For me, Morocco was like some mysterious place. I remember when I was a kid, Tito and Yugoslavia had really good relations with Morocco. I imagined those people as being from another planet, Boumedienn and Algeria, Nasser and Egypt, Gaddafi and Lebanon. I was really fascinated with those countries. After many years I met a lot of people from Morocco and realised that they are not from some other planet, they are like us. But the desire to visit this country never passed me. And here, after 30 or more years I fulfilled my dream with my family. This is a story of our journey.
Educational Sessions
- First Aid course - 2 days
- Reading maps, learning how to orientate with compass or with basic things from nature
- Packing the bike before the big trip
- Changing the tire, with some basic technical instruction
