KRP are importers and servicers of big bikes in Delhi, which they do very well if you need a repair after a long journey from Europe. They ship/fly bikes as a favour to overlanders.

I just dropped my bike off (BMW GS 1150 Adv) at their workshop and they did the rest, incl; an excellent crate, transport to the airport, customs clearence, forwarding the carnet and flying the bike via Thai Air. A very easy way to fly your bike. The cost of flying was increased because of the boxer engine, which sustantially increases the volume of the crate.

At the Bangkok end it was cleared through customs by handlers and delivered to the BMW dealership in town.

KRP charged $1600 for crate, customs clearence, flying, carnet forwarding and all other costs.

At Bangkok it cost $400 to clear customs and be delivered to the BMW dealership.

KiwiCar (now name change to Hoegh) has RoRos between Japan and Australia. Communication is not a problem as contact person in Japan is from NewZealand. Clean the bike rigoriously for Australias tough quarantine laws and drop it off at the port. I left my ortlieb panniers and duffle bag on the bike. KiwiCar also handled the Carnet for 15000Yen. Some extra delay occured in returning the Carnet as it was not expected for customs to be shut during Xmas and NewYear. Luckily no sharp deadlines for a flight out.

Contacted the agent in Brisbane and brought carnet over to customs office saving some $$$. Next day off to the port for collection. Fee 80AUD if i remember correctly. quarantine officer was pretty quick, first impressions count i suppose and perhaps it helped it was raining.. Unfortuanly one of the Ortlieb panniers bags was open and some stuff missing like mobile phone and USB sticks. Very annoying. First time I had anything stolen from the bike.

Depending on which state you arrive there is additional paperwork, like optional roadworthiness check or temporarily import documents (along with Carnet) and insurance. have fun with that!

A few days before I obtained a customs certificate to state I was allowed to export my bike. On the day I rode my bike to the Dangerous good certificate office where I paid my money was allowed to have 1/3 of a tank of fuel and oil in my bike. I then rode around to Qantas where I rode up and onto the loading dock, placed my bike onto the scales. I then paid my money and said goodbye to my bike. Qantas strapped it down to a pallet and shipped it to Thailand.

I was charged on the weight of the bike not the volume - but this was due to the fact my bike only weighted 130kg.

I wanted to ship my bike to new zealand where i was for a working holiday. Had a hard time finding a particulair shipper but then these guys showed up.
The website is in English or german, but the company is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and they speak dutch aswell of course.
