Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Wallenius Willhelmsen

real easy,
I send the main office an e-mail when I wanted the bike to arrive. They send you a date (3 days before departure)
when you have to bring the bike, you can leave it with 1/4 tank of gas. They drive it on the ship for you.
You can even pay for the shipment upon arrival in Los Angeles and pay only the handling fee in Belgium (about 170 euro).
Even though there were a few big hurricanes the ship arrived at the exact date they told me. (it takes 24 days)
You do have to provide an adress in the states or U.S. customs won't release it.
You have to call the office in Port Huaneme before you pick up the bike, because you have to make an appointment with customs first( it is located around the corner of their office).
Customs is real easy takes 20 minutes and costs nothing, you get an import permit for 1 year.
Next go to the Wallenius office, pay 10 dollars handling fee, they store the bike 1 week for free.
Go pick up your bike at the end of the street and drive of. It's that simple.
Very easy, real good service, no need for crating.

We have just shipped the bike via SDV in Dili. SDV easy to find - marked on every map of Dili we found. Eric (bloke in charge) very nice guy and willing to negotiate on price. Cost us $113 (should have been $182 but he waived their $50 custom charge which is basically getting the carnet stamped and measured the bike smaller).

Eric is on to it but other guys in office VERY relaxed about everything - forgot to give me bill of lading and I had to go back to collect it!

No need to crate bikes - just rode it into container and strapped it down. Too easy.

Shipping went fine and no hassles Darwin end either.

When you arrive in Darwin go to Customs House and jack up an appointment for them to inspect bike for carnet. You can also book and pay for AQIS inspection at Customs office (AUS$87).

Customs just want to check frame/engine no.s and stamp carnet, AQIS check bike and luggage clean and not carrying any nasties.

Can steam clean bikes in Dili
