West Coast

I have just completed a trip down the west coast, my website should hopefully by the end if next week have all the waypoints and hints and tips on it (www.patrolinafrica.com). Though as always with things in africa getting things done usually takes longer than you anticipate.

cheers
Patrick

Sorry I have been away....we came up the east route. Did 16651 miles door to door costing 1935ukp at 27.8mpg...not bad for a 2.8 range rover 6x4 carmichael .. 2 punctures...destroyed one tyre...3 vehicle problems...exhaust fell off, clutch pipe burnt through and hubb drive member repaired but thses did not immobilise us.

Any pics?

Hi any pics of your carmichael? we did it in a '83 rangie with a crappy 2.5 ford transit engine. We had quite a few mechanical problems but didn't technically breakdown. (Definition of breakdown IMO is being unable to do a roadside repair and needing to call for help - scheduled "maintenance" stops permitted ie. limping to next town for repairs)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
