Hi Andy,
Short Answer: Slow; looks like Spring 2008 but it will be worth the wait!

Long Excuse: Snowed myself under with a couple of desert tours to pay for the months of keyboarding. It's the next big job in 2007 and I've been thinking a lot about it lately and checking out other vehicles.
I've even bought myself a project vehicle to maybe do up for the book, or heck, even a long trip!:

Want to do a comprehensive section on vehicle choice, set-up and build, but as that is a lot more diverse than simple Sahara, it will take some time to get to grips with.

And I'm always interested in more of your trip reports (Orange Bert, let's hear it!:

Chris

I missed talk "Overland by motorcyle" at the Adventure show on saturday, but enjoyed your Sahara one on Sunday. Thanks.

Will you be giving a similar talk at the Ace? Or elsewhere?

Hi Tony, not sure what or when the Ace is (apart from a 1960s Leather Boys hangout) but I can bang out either talk anywhere if I'm around and wanted and paid a bit.

If you mean the 2 non-bike talks, I may offer them on Matt's stand at 4x4/LR shows this summer.

And I'll be doing a "25.5 Years of Desert Biking" at the UK HU show this summer.

Thanks. It was your bike talks I specifically would like to hear and sadly missed.

The Ace was indeed what you remember, but now it is used by varied bike users as a meeting venue. There is an HUBB gathering there on 4 Feb see the "Ace mini meet - London" thread.

I see, I did hear Austin V was doing something there but did not make the connection. Shame to miss it as it sounds like a great venue but on that day I'll be setting out for the Erg Killian route in southern Algeria with a bunch of bikes and all fingers crossed.

I'll keep my eye out of future mini HUs at the Ace.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
