Dangerous Drives TV

Passing on this email - maybe it's your cup of tea.

Ch

My name is Nick Hiller and I work for a documentary production company called Pangolin Pictures in New York City--www.pangolinpictures.com. We're currently producing a 13-part series for SPEED called "Dangerous Drives" about the most challenging and dangerous drives in the world and I came across your site while researching a potential episode about Sahara crossings.

I wanted to know if you or anyone you know have any up-coming expeditions that involve extreme off-roading/4-wheeling that we might be able to film, as well as any drivers who would be great characters for our show.

... not interested in stateside stuff, they [Speed] really want harsh foreign environment stuff, i.e., rainforests, deserts, mountains, arctic, etc...

Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you.

Nick Hiller

They're all relatively dangerous (but manageable), otherwise it would be just like driving in the US or EU! Heading on a trip in Jan11.

We could do some fafella's in Brazil with them, that would be real dangerous. But then they would end up loosing all the footage when they steal the camera's like they did to us in Salvador just a few weeks ago! I drove around with the police a couple of blocks. Driving with the guns hanging outside.

Adventurous greetings,
Coen

You should come to Iceland in the wintertime. We have a big range of modified trucks to drive in the snow. People in Iceland go driving in to the highland and on the glaciers in wintertime. There are currently 2 Icelandic expeditions in antarctica driving to the south pole. TV presenters for the show Top Gear did a trip to the north pole on trucks modified in Iceland. I think that a series like you are describing could me more exiting to watch if you have some snow and ice driving too.

Here are links to the current antarctic expeditions

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
