Is Google earth useless for Africa directions ?
I have google earth up and running.
If I plan a route from Cape Town to pretoria, it says no-can-do !
Any other direction programs that can do Cape town to some where in Africa ?
ps,
I Know the N1 like the back of my hand everyone !
Just an example

Is not Google Earth linked to Tracks 4 Africa?
Even if it does not 'autoroute' I'd think a few waypoints would help navigate.

Why don't you break the trip down into smaller parts, it works then...

The tracks and roads are there for Tracks4Africa. Maybe your connection is slow or you need to Zoom in and out slowly to catch some of them.

Hi guy's
I got the tracks 4 Africa on now.
Just did not have the layer enabled..
In an earlier post in this thread, there is mention of a leash ?
What's that, or is it a simple typo?

Honestly, it was a smart ass remark on my part, and one I should've not made. No offense towards you, personally, was intended.
My belief is that consumer GPS was developed by the Devil himself (slight exaggeration), and that it has become a weak and false crutch for too many people. A tool, yes, but never the teat.
A little spilt , some ashes, poor lighting and crazy ideas on an open map can be down-right pornographic...

The trouble is
The trouble with compuiters/gpses/cameras/videos/etc is that they do what we say, not what we want.
"I know that you beleive you understand what you think I said but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." Anon.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
