HU meet
Hi
Previosly been on our bikes but don't remeber seeing any 4x4 there. Are we blind or do not many people go?
Also can anyone let us know about any 4x4 shows that would be worth for equipment etc?

I havent been to the HU meeting, but it seems to be more bikes than 4x4.
I have had the idea for a while of a 4x4 meet, anyone interested?
I am in the lake district, but theres no reason it couldnt be somewhere more central..
Or if anyone knows of another 4x4 overlanders meet going on?
There are a lot of small vehicle specific things like 'mogfest' etc... a truck + 4x4 overlanders weekend required perhaps..

Yes Please
Although I seem to be permanantly busy at weekends, with enough warning I'd love to me up with some other overlanders etc.
Again with enough warning I'd come up to the Lake District. Never need too much of an excuse to come up there.
I suppose you'd have to work out an agenda for the weekend, otherwise it would just end up in boozing. Not that that is a bad idea of course ......

Hi Stan, I'd be interested in a 4x4 meeting too - I'm on the edge of the yorkshire dales so the lakes is an easy drive but don't mind traveling. Sounds like a good idea though there is a lot to be learned from the bikers - keeping it simple etc. Send me a pm if the idea takes off and I would be happy to help with venues etc
cheers
Chris

4x4 meeting
We have previously been to 2 HU meets and they are a good get together. The talks are mainly from bikers (we only converted from bikes to 4x4 recently) but if there was a group of us at HU then we could do our own thing together - maybe people could talk about stuff they have done or can recommend - i could do with winch training!!!
The venues already arranged so might be worth a go - foods good as well!

I think HU this year is a good start - then we can plan something later.
I've thought of organising it with Matt Savage (campsite right there with pool!) but we ran out of steam.

Just to say there where 4x4's at both the Belgium (x2 LR) meet and the UK (several LR including a great 6x6 LR)... I guess it will be the same again this year in the UK.....

There were at least 6 4 x 4 vehicles at the Ripley meeting.
I will look into the 4 x 4 vehicles having their own area if thats what you want so you can all camp together.
