You know I just can't see you whiling away your winter evenings with a 6mm drill and a pop rivet gun! It actually looks like a very hard (and expensive) vehicle to get expedition ready unless you decide to stay on tar for your whole trip (and in that case you'll be limited to Kruger national park if you ever want to visit a game park).
You don't need a bullbar or a winch just Heavy Duty springs and gas shocks (OME are good and they'll give you a 2 inch suspension lift into the bargain) you'll need for load carrying. Any plans on how you're going to fit an expedition type roofrack?
And don't be fooled by tyres that look the part in the car park at ASDA - buy standard sized tyres on 16" rims: 750/16's or 235/85/R16's and make sure that you carry two spares .
